In its inaugural year the lab is designed as a skill enhancement and capacity-building programme. It aims to mentor first-time and mid-career feature film producers with practical creative, financial, and strategic tools to develop, finance, and position independent feature films for the global marketplace. And to bring about domain awareness and concept learning amongst aspiring & student producers.
The focus is on talent from Delhi, Gurgaon, and the NCR region in its pilot edition - however any film & media institute / department can send in recommendations.

In light of this, The Producers Lab at IFFD 2026, is a collaborative curated lab created for first time and mid-career feature film producers as well as aspiring students looking for mentorship and avenues for awareness and skill enhancement.
