The market demands more than just good ideas; it demands scripts that work. This intensive Script Workshop is a curated learning experience designed for aspiring and emerging filmmakers who want to understand both the craft and business of Script.

Featuring insightful talks by leading industry professionals from the film and OTT platform, the workshop offers engaging real-life insights and practical guidance, helping participants learn how ideas are transformed into powerful screenplays.

The sessions focus on building strong storytelling fundamentals, understanding narrative structure, developing compelling characters, and gaining real-world industry perspective.

Through expertled sessions and interactive discussions, participants will gain clarity on the creative process, industry expectations, and practical approaches to writing for film and digital platforms. The workshop aims to equip attendees with the knowledge, confidence, and direction needed to take their Script journey forward.

Rules & Regulations

This workshop is designed for individuals who are serious about building a career in Script and storytelling for film and digital platforms. It is curated to ensure a focused, professional, and high-quality learning environment for all participants.

Ideal Participants Include:

  • Aspiring screenwriters looking to develop strong storytelling fundamentals and industry-relevant skills
  • Film and media students seeking practical exposure beyond academic learning
  • Emerging filmmakers, directors, and content creators aiming to strengthen their narrative craft
  • Writers from other formats (theatre, advertising, literature, digital content, journalism) looking to transition into Script
  • Independent creators interested in understanding the professional workflow of the film and OTT industry

Eligibility Criteria:

To maintain the quality of discussions and ensure meaningful engagement, applicants are expected to demonstrate serious intent, commitment, and a foundational understanding of storytelling.

Applicants should meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • Prior experience in writing (Script, fiction, theatre, advertising, digital content, or journalism)
  • Film / media students or graduates with a strong interest in Script
  • Experience in making at least one short film
  • Have written at least one short script, story, or a draft of a long-format screenplay
  • Actively working towards building a career in films, OTT, or content creation

  • Please complete the online application form to apply for the Script Workshop 2026.
  • Applicants will be required to submit the storyline, script / screenplay (if available), story treatment, writer’s statement, and any supporting material such as a mood board or previous work links. Please keep this material ready with you before starting to fill up the application form.
  • All applications will be reviewed and shortlisted by the curatorial panel. The organizers may contact applicants for additional information, if required.

  • IFFD CineXchange / DTTDC / its agencies has the right to reject/remove any application for non-compliance with any rule and regulation of the Script Workshop section.

  • After selection, participants must be available to attend the full duration of the Script Workshop in Delhi from March 25–31, 2026.

  • Post-selection, the Script Workshop curatorial team may request additional materials, if required.

  • Selected participants may be invited to briefly introduce themselves during a moderated session as part of the workshop proceedings.

  • Only the selected participant will be permitted to attend the Script Workshop. The workshop is designed as an individual learning programme.

  • Selected participants are required to attend the full duration of the workshop from March 25–31, 2026. Partial attendance will not be permitted.

  • The organizers will not provide accommodation or travel support. All selected participants must make their own arrangements for travel, lodging, and local transport.

  • The application to the Script Workshop is free of charge.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee selection. The selection process is merit-based and subject to curatorial review. 
  • Selected participants may be required to acknowledge their participation in the Workshop.
